Gotthard Base Tunnel: the project of the century wins the 2018 European Railway Award

This evening, Peter Jedelhauser (SBB) and Renzo Simoni (former CEO of AlpTransit Gotthard AG) were in Brussels to collect the 2018 European Railway Award on behalf of everyone involved in building the Gotthard Base Tunnel (GBT) and putting it into operation. Regarded as the highest accolade in the European rail industry, this prize is awarded by the Community of European Railways (CER) and the Association of the European Rail Industry (UNIFE).

The new head of SBB Cargo International, Sven Flore, will take up his role in July 2018. Flore draws from comprehensive knowledge of the transport sector, his most recent position included advising various railway companies. The present CEO, Michail Stahlhut, will take over the management of Hupac Intermodal AG.

Rola terminal opens in Freiburg im Breisgau

Together with representatives from the City of Freiburg and the Federal Office for Transport, RAlpin AG, the operator of the rolling highway (Rola) rail link, officially opened and ceremonially inaugurated its modernized transshipment terminal on 16 March 2017.
