Our transport network.
Combined transport (CT) refers to the transport of goods using at least two modes of transport, typically rail and road or water. The cargo is not directly reloaded, but remains in standardized loading units such as containers, swap bodies or semi-trailers.
The advantages of all modes of transport are utilized: environmentally friendly and efficient long-distance transport by rail, combined with delivery or collection by truck or ship.
Possible goods that can be transported in the CT:
- Consumer goods such as electronics and textiles
- Building materials and prefabricated parts
- Food
- Chemicals
- Dangerous Goods
- Waste
With conventional block trains, all wagons of a single sender are on their way to the same recipient. They are not swapped or replaced during the journey.
Possible goods that can be transported with conventional block trains:
- Coal and other bulk materials (e.g. ore, sand)
- Building materials (e.g. cement, precast concrete parts, gravel)
- Cars
- Wood
- Food (e.g. grain, sugar)
- Steel products (e.g. coils, sheets, pipes)
- Mineral oil products and chemicals
- Waste and recycling materials (e.g. scrap metal)
